ENERGY CONSUMPTION CALCULATION: Using the per capita U.S. average for individual energy consumption, the residents and businesses in all 36 counties of Oregon each year consume a quantity of energy totaling approximately 672 tera-watt hours (TWh) as measured in electric energy units or 672 million barrels of oil equivalent (b.o.e.) as measured in crude oil units.















THIRTEEN-COUNTY PORTLAND REGION

Development of county energy profiles and county energy programming for Oregon is currently focused on about one-third of its counties: the thirteen-county Portland Region ion the northwest corner of the state. This region contains 74.2 % of the state population on just  23.2% of the state land.

The 21st century will be a time of transition from a global energy supply to a county energy supply
